Hartley rock imaging - 2021
Developed as a just-in-time teaching resource by staff at Macquarie University during COVID lockdown, we expertly 3D imaged a set of difficult geological hand samples to enable a virtual field trip in the Geology Program. We offered image processing to a few sets of previous photogrammetry legacy data that was unprocessed and then newly imaged a massive set of rock samples to create a teaching collection with enough fidelity to actually provide good digital teaching alternatives to real world samples, an incredibly difficult task in Earth sciences.
