Canowindra Fish Fossils - 2019
The Canowindra fish fossil site was excavated near the town of Canowindra. It is a rich late Devonian site with all the fossils preserved on a single bedding plane, part of an ancient fish community trapped in a pool of water which dried up, killing them.
Rampe Realistic Imaging was engaged by The Australian Museum to scope, design a process, execute photogrammetry on site and deliver a publish-ready set of 3D scans and orthomosaics. Over 80 tons of fossils were imaged in 5 concurrent working days on site in regional NSW.
